About Manfred

Manfred Url - born in Graz in 1967 - an independent artist and painter by deep conviction and passion. For him, painting has never been merely a craft or skill; it has always been a vital, heartfelt way of being. Since early childhood, art has been his language of love, light, and truth - a lifelong journey to capture not only what is seen, but what is felt.

Manfred was trained at the School of Arts and Crafts in Graz, specializing in graphic art and painting, and later completed in-depth studies in fresco painting and restoration under Prof. Josef Fastl. This strong classical foundation became the fertile ground from which his open, contemporary artistic voice could flourish. His many study trips across Europe, South America, the United States, and especially Ireland have shaped his artistic soul, leaving behind traces of color, culture, and emotion that live within his work to this day.

Description The creation of each painting is, for Manfred, an act of love — an intimate dialogue between heart, hand, and canvas. It is an intense inner process, requiring presence, patience, and trust. He approaches every work intuitively, allowing it to breathe and unfold rather than forcing direction upon it. In these moments, he lives his belief that “one can only truly see with the heart.” When balance arises — when the heart and the image align — he knows the work is complete. It is then that the painting, infused with life, is ready to connect with others and kindle joy.

At the center of his artistic journey stands the PanArt technique, a unique process he has nurtured and evolved over many years. Using self-made paints, layered textures, and spontaneous gestures, he creates luminous compositions that seem almost alive. Some reveal hidden depths only under UV light — as if inviting the viewer to discover a secret world beneath the visible. Each painting becomes a mirror for the soul, allowing others to find their own forms, meanings, and feelings within it.

Manfred Url’s works have been exhibited nationally and internationally — in Austria, Germany, Greece, Chile, Bolivia, the United States, and Ireland. A particularly special milestone was his exhibition in Ireland, opened officially by President Michael D. Higgins (see photo) — a moment that affirmed not only his artistic recognition but also the heartfelt connections his art continues to inspire.

Beyond his exhibitions, he brings his vision to life through interior and exterior designs and creates large-scale works in public spaces, transforming environments into experiences of color and emotion.

His artistic belief remains simple yet profound: art should touch the heart. Whether subtle or powerful, it should awaken something within — shifting perception, even if only for a moment. Through his work, Manfred reminds us that love and art share the same essence: both have the power to open our eyes and help us see the world anew — not with reason, but with the heart.
